Blog Conversion – Three Important Things To Consider

by admin on January 25, 2010

Blog conversion is the act of getting visitors doing what you want them to do in your blog. The act of the visitors could be clicking an ad, subscribing to your mailing list, buying some products or services, or just linking to your blog. Converting your blog is important especially when you’re blogging for making money.

When you’ve been blogging for a while, you may have a constant stream of traffic flowing to your blog from some sources such as search engines, social networking websites, online directories, etc. But without conversion, your blog is nothing. So, what sort of things can increase your blog conversion?

Here are three important things you should consider to increase your blog conversion.

1. Clear communication. When you write an article on your blog, you are actually communicating with your visitors. You convey ideas or suggestions or problem solving tips or important information to your readers. Your communication must be effective, with easily understandable sentences, straightforward and to the point.

2. Smooth navigation. Sometimes you give some special links in your article. The links are used to facilitate your visitors reach certain places that give them extra information about the topic or as references. In this case, do not let your visitors wait too long to arrive at the place you want, or even confused with what to do. Make sure that your links are alive, and do not give your visitors dead links.

3. Minimalist layout. This is related to the selection of color schemes, use of white spaces, blog design, ad placement, etc. Use only a minimalist layout in order not to confuse your visitors. A luxurious design may not be interesting for your visitors. It often happens, visitors just bored with your design so that they immediately leave your blog. Simple views but looks interesting, is the most effective layout.
